Advertising trucks

     The oil price has been rising rapidly these days, and there are no signs of a fall any time soon, which means drivers and passengers must spend more money on traveling. To save money, the environment, and reduce the earth's climate, car owners might consider traveling less or using alternate arrangements such as using a carpool or public transportation. “Traffic congestion” is another problem as a matter of fact it is a major reason that causes travelers to lose time, gasoline, money, and tempers, and even losing their minds.

     Key factors of congestion are heavy traffic usually caused by a variety of issues including accidents, rush-hours, “reckless” driving, “severe” weather, etc or simply by “Advertising trucks”. That’s right the Advertising trucks! These trucks travel like snail blocking traffic flow. And some of them have gigantic speakers with high volumes on. People are so “frustrated” with them and yet there is no one with authority overseeing this issue. The truth is that those advertising trucks drive “incredibly” slow, which is an unlawful “obstruction” of traffic. Unfortunately, the law has never been “enforced”. No one wants to be stuck in traffic, especially in rush-hours. We will keep “frittering away” our time and money and energy. It is extremely depressing that the people who have the power do nothing about this.

1) Reckless [adjective] not caring or worrying about the possible bad or dangerous results of your actions. ประมาท

4) Obstruction [uncountable and countable]     when something blocks a road, passage, tube, law, etc, or the thing that blocks it. ขัดขวาง

     Business owners who are “considerate” should seek the “alternative” ways to market their products and services. They must be more creative and “inventive”, and if possible only hire advertising trucks after all other ideas have been exhausted, “the last resort”. If the business owners still insist to use this method to promote their business, then the consumers should inform them. If this does not work, the customers should protest by boycotting their products and services. Teach them a lesson. If their sales “plunge”, they might have learned something.

6) The last resort: what you will do if everything else fails.

     To “eradicate” or “abolish” advertising trucks would affect some people, which is very few and cannot be compared to those who suffer from their business. If it can’t be “eliminated”, then what can we do to “ease” this “burden”? “Meet half-way” is a solution to this. What does it mean? It means the advertising trucks can still be running around town, but they must be thoughtful to the public. And the authorities must lay down rules and regulations. There should be certain days, dates, places, and times for the trucks to be driving. They should not be running during “peak” times, the days that have “flea markets” in some soi, and their speakers’ volume should not be exceeding 85 decibels. These rules and regulations should be “imposed” and it should bring an agreeable “accommodation” between both public and the advertising truck companies; if not, then the police force should step in and apply the law.

     Advertising is a must to promote the business. Nevertheless, it should not cause any inconvenience and become a “public nuisance”.
