Merry Christmas 2007 and Happy New Year 2008

     After the general election was completed, it has brought cheer, tears, and joy to numerous people. Everyone wanted this nation to move forward. It was halted for a year until December 23rd, 2007, which was the day Thai citizens, who were eligible to vote had gone to the polls. They had performed their duty well and distinguished themselves as the good citizens.

     Last year might not be a year we want to reminisce; nevertheless, it was the year to remember. It was the year that changed our past and shaped up our future. We had made our voice loud and clear, so that it can be heard. We made people who had the muscle and power to listen. And we simply did it by casting a vote, not by any violent means such as threats, bribery, or firearms.

     I would like to congratulate all the winners except the ones who had cheated. Also, I would like to give a very warm welcome to the new elected member of parliaments, particularly in some province. The province which had always been dark and cloudy for many years. At last there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. And the light will definitely bring life to the people of this province. But, most importantly, many things will be done right after it was done wrong for decades.

     So will this New Year be a year of the golden opportunities? As a matter of fact, every single day is the day of golden opportunity. One who waits for the opportunity will become history. One who creates opportunity will make history. Which person do you want to be? The one whom will be forgotten or the one whom will be remembered. We had better not be the forgotten ones!

     A new year has begun and on this special occasion, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support. And during this holiday season and in the upcoming year, may your hopes, wishes, and dreams come true and all your efforts turn into great achievements. As always, I only wish the best for you, your family, your loved ones, and your friends. Happy New Year 2008.

     P.S. For newly elected member of parliaments, I hope you observe the following: You will always win voters heart as long as you follow these 2 simple rules: One: people’s interest always comes first. Two: never break the first rule.

     หลังการเลือกตั้งใหญ่ได้เสร็จสิ้น, มันได้นำมาซึ่งเสียงไชโย, น้ำตา, และ ความปิติ. ทุกคนต้องการให้ประเทศนี้เคลื่อนไปข้างหน้า. ประเทศได้หยุดนิ่งเป็นปีจนกระทั่งวันที่ 23 ธันวาคม, 2007, ซึ่งเป็นวันที่ประชากรไทย, ผู้ซึ่งมีคุณสมบัติเลือกตั้งไปออกเสียง. คนไทยได้ทำหน้าที่ได้ดี และ พวกเขาน่ายกย่องในฐานะประชากรที่ดี.

     ปีที่แล้วอาจจะเป็นปีที่เราไม่ต้องการระลึกถึง; อย่างไรก็ตาม, มันเป็นปีที่น่าจดจำ. มันเป็นปีที่เปลี่ยนอดีต และ พัฒนาอนาคต ของเรา. เราได้ทำเสียงของเราดัง และ ชัดเจน, เพื่อที่จะให้ได้ยิน. เราทำให้กลุ่มคนที่อิทธิพล และ อำนาจ ต้องฟัง. และ เราทำง่ายๆโดยการหย่อนบัตร, โดยไม่ใช้ความรุนแรงใดๆไม่ว่าจะเป็นการข่มขู่, สินบน, หรือ อาวุธปืน.

     ผมขอแสดงความยินดีกับผู้ชนะทั้งหมดยกเว้นคนที่โกง. และ, ผมขอต้อนรับด้วยความอบอุ่นอย่างยิ่งต่อผู้ที่ได้รับเลือกเป็นสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎรคนใหม่, โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในบางจังหวัด. เป็นจังหวัดที่ได้อยู่ภายใต้เมฆหมอก และ ความมืดมาหลายปีมาก. ในที่สุดจะมีแสงสว่างแห่งความหวังหลังจากการรอคอยที่ยาวนาน. และแสงสว่างนี้จะนำชีวิตสู่ผู้คนของจังหวัดนี้. แต่, ที่สำคัญมากที่สุด, หลายสิ่งจะถูกทำให้ถูกต้อง หลังจากได้ถูกทำผิดมาหลายสิบปี.

     ปีใหม่ได้เริ่มต้น และ เนื่องในโอกาสพิเศษนี้, ผมขอใช้โอกาสนี้ขอบคุณการสนับสนุนจากทุกท่าน. และในระหว่างเทศกาลแห่งความสุข และ ปีใหม่ที่มาเยือน, ขอให้ความหวัง, ความปราถนา, และ ความฝัน เป็นจริง และ ความมุ่งมั่นของท่านเป็นความสำเร็จที่ยิ่งใหญ่. เช่นเดิม, ผมขอให้ท่าน, ครอบครัวของท่าน, คนที่ท่านรัก, และ เพื่อนท่าน ได้รับสิ่งที่ดีที่สุด. สวัสดีปีใหม่ 2551.
